I just upgraded to a 29 gal and am trying to add plants, but they won't stay down, and they look like they are rotting at the bottom. What is wrong??? Do I need to drain the tank and start all over? When I set up my next planted tank im wanting to have a mix of iron rich clay or anything else that will hold in nutrients such as laterite,but I want it to look like white beach sand without the calcium or high Ph.Are there any recomendations for sand/sillica or anything white.
