spencer from winnipeg usually has some nice wild caught. Or talk to richy from the saskatoon aquarium society. he has lots and if I remember correctly was interested in moving a few of his breeding pairs. If you want let me know and i will contact him for you. Thanks Ryan
Wild caught are tempting, but usually more money and are more sensitive to water conditions perfering an acidic Ph and soft water.I dont use RO so im sticking with variant breeds. As for a breeding pair many would be blessed to have them but Im not in the game as of yet,not that It would not interest me but I dont have the expertise in what to do with 50 minimum fry every month, start a business I guess lol.Im growing out 6 discus that I bought four months ago they were 2 inches max and in poor condition I have been pumping them up sice with tons of protien packed foods and daily 50% w/c's .Now they are round as can be and on there way to becomeing quite the show piece. So from what I gather is some poeple who are either properly connected with breeding or know how to grow out Discus can obtain beautiful quality fish with size in matureity and coulor in a true selective pure breeding process. So Im not looking for more work in growing out a fish but finding an adult.I am interested but not in buying to breed.
ok well that guy breeds them and would answer any questions you had or help you in anyway he could. also he breeds them so may have some fry if your interested in buying some fry.
Send me an email bnessman@hotmail.com I would appreciate any local help on the matter.I was planning on going to the SAS meeting on the 29th but I have to go out of town.
