I've been keeping fish for about four years so far and have been breeding guppies and snails for about 2 years. My first fish tank was a ten gallon I also have a 2, 20 gallon all which are planted, holding guppies. Then I have a 33 gal With a koi and a few goldfish, I had a few giant ramshorn snails but my koi decided to have escargo.
I thought that snails will eat live plants? I am wanting to put more live plants into my guppy tank, the guy at petsmart said I can just put them in, but do I need to do any thing special with my water or rocks? I keep reading about stuff for the bottom of the tank so the plants grow better I am so lost! Thanks for any help.
There are all kinds of things you can use as substrate. Myself I find they all work as long as you feed your plants. PMDD is the best and most affordable method. As far as snails there are plenty that eat plants, and plenty that don't. Just be sure to google the snail type before making a purchase...
hi, I am donig the guppy thing right now too. just wondering if you would want to trade any fish to try to help with inbreeding issues. Or even if I could buy 1 or 2 of yours. Let me know.
